UNELTA to implement a project on English Language for Socioeconomic Empowerment

Starting November 2017, UNELTA will implement a 1-year project funded by the US Department of State to enhance socioeconomic empowerment of young teachers and students in 25 Ugandan schools. The project will focus on aspects of language that harness employability, entrepreneurship and economic opportunities.

It is anticipated that by the end of the project, over 50 teachers together with their students will have improved on their skills necessary for socioeconomic empowerment by competing and collaborating for opportunities at their exposure in their communities and beyond.

The project will take a practical approach where each of the 25 participating schools will design and implement creative micro projects using English Language for entrepreneurial purposes. At the end of the project, the best 3 micro projects will be awarded.

UNELTA will make a call for potential participants to express their interest in participating in this exciting project.
