UNELTA is dedicated to expanding strides by continuously participating in networks of Teachers’ Associations in the East African region, the African Continent and the world at large.
From 9-12 December 2019, the Association, together with other associations from East Africa and Botswana participated in the workshop under theme: Collaborative networks building successful associations.

In organizing this workshop, the British Council partnered with like-minded entities including TheAmerican Embassy, Hornby Foundation and IATEFL. The workshop enabled UNELTA representative and other association leaders to share experiences and learn from each other.

The workshop was facilitated by Neil Winston, the English in Education systems consultant at British Council, Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr Richard Kiely, representing the Hornby Trust also delivered a 90 minute workshop each day and asked the participants to work together, share, understand and build on success stories from English Language teachers’ associations. There was also a workshop by one of the Ethiopia-based US State Dept English Language Fellows.
